****Dead Black Arms/The Doom Riot /Kanada Brothers/Satanism Around Hollywood/Taiko Oroshi/My Love We Found The Skies. This is all the collected pseudonyms Claus Haxholm (DK) plays under. The names should, more or less, infulence (or visa versa) the sound of the project. Some of the names are more active than others. "A massive double dose of oscillating drones, ear-tickling tones and, most of all, minimalist meditative synthetics, from the multi-faceted Claus Haxholm" (A Beard Of Snails Records). New Album upcoming on 200mgrecords.
****Macumbista/Derek Holzer [USA 1972]. His work focuses on capturing and transforming small, unnoticed sounds from various natural and urban locations, networked collaboration strategies, experiments in improvisational sound and the use of free software such as Pure-Data. He has released tracks under the Nexsound, Sirr, and/OAR and Gruenrekorder labels, and has co-initiated several internet projects for field recording and collaborative soundscapes including Soundtransit.nl. "One of the central concepts of my work is that every object and space around us is a recorder. Each one has collected the resonances of its surroundings for as long as it has existed. You could call it an acoustic version of particle physics or genetics, because the idea remains the same--in the smallest details you will find a representation of the greater whole. My task as a sound artist is often just to listen, and to listen very closely, to the histories hidden inside our everyday world." This Evening is co-curated by Derek.
****Chris Douglas/O.S.T. recorded his first EP for Detroit-based Switch Records in 1992 under the name O.S.T. - the source of which he won't readily reveal to anyone. The release provoked one critic to assert, "Just about anything that would connect with house is abandoned here. This is one of the futures of techno", and prompted another reviewer to say, "10/10 a work of art and a piece of history". "Retaining his caustic sensibility, Chris Douglas (aka O.S.T./Rook Vallard) mimics the late '60s sound of academic computer music within the more structural sounds of post-Aphex electronica." Aquarius Recs.
Cancelled due the heavy rain!
